Youth Center Assistant Cook

Worksite: Cuyuna Range Youth Center

Timeframe: 1 day a month for a minimum of 2 hours from September 2019 – May 2019 – Flexible scheduling

The purpose of this position is to provide healthy meals to youth that attend the youth center during open hours. By providing our youth a safe place where they can have a healthy meal promotes lifelong healthy eating habits.

The duties of this position include:

  • Ensuring youth follow the youth center rules and expectations.
  • Assisting with food prep and cooking.
  • Serving youth meals, snacks, drinks.
  • Assisting with clean-up after meals, dishes, wiping down counters, etc.
  • If interested, teaching a cooking class for youth to show them how to prepare healthy meals on their own.

Youth Center Assistant

The purpose of this position is to provide the youth at our center a caring adult role model. This position helps the other youth center staff supervise the youth while developing lasting positive relationships with the youth.

The duties of this position include:

  • Ensuring youth follow the youth center rules and expectations.
  • Engaging youth in discussions.
  • Encouraging youth to play games (billiards, card and board games, gym, video games, etc.) and try new things.

Youth Center Coach

Timeframe: 1 day a month for a minimum of 2 hours for 3 months – Flexible scheduling

The purpose of this position is to provide the youth at our center a caring adult role model to help guide them to make positive life choices.

The duties of this position include:

  • Ensuring youth follow the youth center rules and expectations.
  • Engaging youth in discussions.
  • Running a structured gym activity (volleyball, soccer, bball, etc.)
  • Encouraging teamwork.
  • Providing the youth with the sense of belonging to a team
